THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS, DO NOT READ ANY FARTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED!!!
Get ready for a trip down memory lane (and no, I’m not talking about a flashback).
On tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, the gang crowns the next Miss Mystic Falls. “This episode is a party at the Lockwood mansion, where Stefan has concocted this kind of nutty plan that involves Jeremy and a number of people, and Damon truly disagrees with it,” said Ian Somerhalder (Damon), when we caught up with him on the Atlanta set recently. (Hmm, what else is new?)
Though Somerhalder wouldn’t say whether Damon and Elena (Nina Dobrev) get to sneak in a dance amidst the madness — as they did during last year’s pageant — he did say that both characters will recognize what took place between them before.
“Remember, in the first season they had this dance where you could feel, really for the first time, that cool chemical attraction that they had,” Somerhalder said. “Seeing this again … and seeing both of them recognizing it and sort of internalizing it, it’s cool.”
They’re not the only ones with romantic tension. Michael Trevino said his character, Tyler, goes to the dance with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) on his arm instead of Caroline (Candice Accola). “So, that might cause some problems,” Trevino teased.
Of course, there’s a lot more in store than just relationship drama. In addition to an appearance by Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas (watch a video below to see what Dobrev had to say about working with the young gymnast), Accola said fans can expect things to take a turn for the worst. “Parties don’t usually go off without a glitch in Mystic Falls, there’s always something,” she teased. Meanwhile, co-star Steven R. McQueen ominously hinted, “There will be blood.”
We’d expect nothing less!
